great hat

This woman looks like she has been wearing her great hat proudly for years.
Nothing like a fashionable protection from winters cold.

Jerrelle Kraus

Very interesting talk tonight given by Ms. Kraus about the Op Ed NY
Times artwork over the years and her book about her experiences as
art director there. Great illustrations and anecdotes as well.

sushi chef

What I needed to pick up was not ready. Two hours to kill.
OK its cold and very windy downtown so I duck into a sushi bar and have lunch.
Read and knock out these 3 drawings before I go and pick up my prints.

riding side by side into the lost night

I wander thro' each charter'd street
Near where the charter'd Thames does flow
And mark in every face I meet
Marks of weakness, marks of woe.

Brooklyn Heights Promenade

Brooklyn Heights Promenade group

The air is crisp and clear. The sun is strong. Its around 5PM. There are few joggers. There's an interviewing videographer who gets 2 agreeable subjects. An older Chinese woman is taking her constitution up and back the length of the promenade. And there are small groups of visitors who stand for a brief view of the NYC skyline and then seek warmer spaces. The sun broods screaming bright in the crisp winter sky.

Rudy Gutierrez

DK Dyson

We were visited by Rudy Gutierrez and his wife DK Dyson.
They filled the room with spirit and art and song about keeping to one's path.
Having no boundaries. Being free. It was a special night and will stay with all of us.

we end this trip to Paris

with a woman patron at the bakery who was talking to herself. She seemed
very involved in an important conversation (sans self phone), had her
cafe and picked up and left when too many others entered the room.
