This is great Ira. How do you do the digital sketches? Do you have a flashy gizzmo you can carry around, or do you work later at homw, over pencil sketches?
Thanks Lynne. This one is from memory. I did it when I got to my apt. I would rather sketch on site and then scan and paint with Corel Painter (my usual process) but drawing at this rather wonderful but serious event would have been an insult to the musicians (but I havent given up the idea for the future).
You know I have the equiavalent an IPOD shuffle and it does have the "ap" for drawing. I never tried it (yet). Happy Birthday btw, I recall it being around this time.
Lynne, this Sunday's ny times had a feature article on David Hockney who has relocated (part time) to countryside in England and uses digital techniques as well as traditonal, He is working on huge landscape paintings of the area he lives in whic incorporate the computer for trying diff colors etc.
I had no idea Hockney was living and working in Bridlington at the moment. I've always admired his independant spirit: the way he bucks trends and ignore mean critics and just paints what and how he likes. Great stuff!

I wondered if you'd got one of those fancy new iPhones that you can do digital drawing on.

You should give it a go: I saw some unbelievably striking stuff done on one. You'd never know it was so miniature.
