Today is my birthday!

At 60 years of age, lets say the seas are not rough.
Nor are they calm. Every captain has to know, where are we headed?
So I ask myself, where do I want to go?

Oh Captain Robbins, heed you my saged words on this your date of birth!!

The skipper he stood beside the helm,
His pipe was in his mouth,
And he watched how the veering flaw did blow
The smoke now West, now South.

Then up and spake Lem the cat,
She'd sailed the Spanish Main,
"I pray thee Ira, put into yonder port
For I fear a hurricane.

"Last night, the moon had a golden ring,
And to-night no moon we see!"
The skipper, he blew a whiff from his pipe,
And a scornful laugh laughed he.

And fast through the midnight dark and drear,
Through the whistling sleet and snow,
Like a sheeted ghost, the vessel swept
Towards the reef of Robbins' Woe.

Avast and ahoy -- beware the Siren's song!!
Heed well the wise words of Lem.
Set your safe course by her whiskered compass.
You can count on them.

No poetry here, but I think your birthday painting is great. And the analogy certainly appropriate. Happy Birthday!
